Terms and Conditions

Retainer Fee and Payments

Retainer Fee and Payments

Events and services are not reserved on our event schedule until booking fee is paid.  Services cannot be rendered unless contract is signed, at time of booking/ retainer fee is submitted.  All retainer fees are non-refundable. The client can pay the retainer fee via Cash,, Credit Card, Check*, CashApp, Venmo ,or Paypal.  The balance of the party must be paid in full prior to booking date via Cash, Credit Card, Check* CashApp, Venmo or Paypal.  Please refer to your contract and invoice for payment schedule. We will not accept personal checks within 7 days of booking date. Please make other payment arrangements. By paying the retainer fee you agree to be compliant to all terms and condition listed within the contract and invoice.

Rescheduling

If booking is rescheduled or postponed due to weather or natural disaster, Island Breeze Face & Body Art will retain the amount paid from the non-refundable retainer fee.  A new retainer fee will be required for a future booking (based on availability) within the calendar year.  If your event is postponed or rescheduled due to an emergency, please contact us prior to your party so that we can try to accommodate your new date and time. 

Unacceptable reasons for rescheduling include but are not limited to:

  • Weather*

  • Finances

  • Low attendance

  • Disputes with Venue

  • Simply changing your mind, etc.

 

*All outdoor parties/ events should be prepared in case of weather conditions that prohibit outdoor activity. You may not be refunded your retainer and Face Painting CAN NOT take place in the rain or heavy winds.

 

Cancellations

If your party/event is cancelled at anytime due to weather, or natural disaster, or other reason; Island Breeze Face & Body Art will retain the amount paid from the non-refundable retainer fee and booking may be subject to fees.

Travel

For areas more than 30 miles outside Pulaski County MO, an additional travel fee and a 2 hour booking minimum is required.

Set Up

For Balloon Towers and Arches
Setup and assembly can take  2 or more hours and will be completed 30 mins before the event start time. Please indicate available access time to venue space when booking Balloon Décor services.  Option to deliver/ set up the night prior to event is always best (except when working with Helium and outdoors) . All balloon décor equipment will be picked up at end of event or following day from contracted client, unless other arrangements have been made prior. 


For Face Painting

  • The artist will arrive 15-30 minutes or more prior to the scheduled time to set up and will leave at the end of scheduled time.

  • Please ask your artist if there is availability for them to continue services into the next hour(s) as we usually have bookings back-to-back. If there is availability, the rate for addition time will be applied per hour. Payment for extended time must be paid prior to continuation of services.

  • It is recommended that a maximum of 15 children can be painted within an hour party booking. If more children are expected, please advise the artist prior to the party, as simplified face or arm designs can be offered instead.

  • If temporary glitter tattoos are booked as an Add-on for parties of more than 15 children - each child will have a choice of face paint or glitter tattoos but not both. For parties of 15 or less - each child will be able to have face paint and glitter tattoo (applies to 2 hour party bookings).

  • If the event/party is being held outdoors, please ensure the artist has cover. Artist does ask that a space and seating be provided for event, if not available please notify artist 7 days before event.


 Face Painting Policy

  • Face paints are recommended for use on children aged two and over. Children under age two's skin may be too sensitive.

  • We will not paint full faces on children under three, but a small design on the cheek, hand, arm, or leg may done on children aged between two and three, at the parent's  discretion.

  • We will not paint children less than two years of age under ANY circumstances.  

  • A child cannot be held in restraint or otherwise forced to get their faces painted. This should be a magical experience not a traumatizing one.  

  • The client is responsible for informing parents of attending children that there will be a face painter/temporary glitter tattoo artist at the event, and will advise the artist if there are any children that cannot participate.

  • We are UNABLE to paint anything which is offensive or illegal, nor will we paint anyone who is intoxicated, violent or abusive.

  • Parents must supervise their children at ALL times. We are not babysitters and are not responsible for supervising party/event attendees.

Balloon Twisting 

  • Latex balloons are considered to be a MAJOR choking hazard for small children. For this reason our insurance require that we hand balloon sculptures to the supervising adult for all children under 3 years old.

  • DO NOT Allow any child to put balloons in their mouth.

Accessibility

Parking/ Entrance Access

Please ensure that there is parking available as close to the entrance of the building as possible, since the artist will have to carry heavy equipment in. Failure to do so may result in the artist not being able to set up on time.

Water/ Washroom Access

Please advise us in advance if washroom /restroom, and/or running water service are not available at the event venue.

Electricity Access

Please advise us in advance if access to electricity is at a distance, limited, or not available. Some of the services that we offer require electricity or access to electricity. 

Other Equiptment

Working Area

If the event is outdoors, the Client agrees to provide a covered, comfortable area that is a minimum of six feet by six feet. The Client understands that the Artist(s) will not paint or tattoo without sun and rain protection to protect both the  products and equipment. If conditions require that Artist(s) set up their own shade and rain protection, the client agrees to pay a $50.00 tent fee and understands that the time spent setting up/taking down the tent is billable at the hourly rate. To avoid the additional billable hours, please call ahead if you are unable to provide suitable coverage.

Tent

We have a 10’x10’ weighted tent that the client may reserve for Artist(s) to set up at outdoor parties for a $30.00 fee in the event that shade or a covered area cannot be provided. Tent fee is waived for any party booking of 4+ hours and for event bookings.

Extreme Adverse Working Conditions

Island Breeze Face and Body Art, LLC has the right to cease service and leave without refunding any money, if there are extreme adverse working conditions. In the event this takes place and Client fails to remedy the situation after it has been brought to the Client’s attention. Adverse conditions included but not limited to:

  • Destructive, violent, or extreme; inappropriate behavior of a child or adult

  •  lIlegal activities; use of illegal substances,

  • Intoxicated host or event attendees in an inappropriate setting.

  • In the event that sexual harassment, inappropriate gestures, remarks, are made to Island Breeze Face and Body Art staff/associates.

Liability Statement

​Please be aware of the following:

  • Artist is not liable for any parties’ allergic reactions to paints. Only FDA compliant paints and cosmetic grade glitters and adhesives are used for face painting, airbrush and glitter tattoos.

  • Children with skin allergies or sensitive skin should either not participate, or have Artist perform a patch test at the beginning of the party.

  • For safety reasons, Artist will not paint children under 2 years old.

  • For sanitary reasons, Artist will not paint anyone who is or appears to be sick or suffering from:

    •  cold sores

    •  conjunctivitis

    •  any infectious skin condition

    •  eczema

    • open wounds, cuts, rashes, welts and bruises

    • colds, flu, Covid-19 etc

  •  Artist will use reasonable care, but is not responsible for damage to clothing or property.

  • Artist will not supervise children. The behavior and safety of all children and adults is the Parents’ responsibility, and not the Artist’s. Artist cannot see other children and what they are doing while they are painting.
